Mountain biking is a great family sport β but not every bike park is suitable for children. Here is what to look for and which facilities are particularly family-friendly.
What makes a bike park family-friendly?
Green beginner trails without jumps, a pump track area (ideal for children from around age 5), a bike school with children's courses, rental for all sizes, easy chair lifts without fear, food options and shade.
From what age is mountain biking suitable?
Children from around age 4β5 can ride a pump track on a balance bike or small children's bike. At 7β8 most children can ride simple green trails in a bike park. From around age 10, blue trails are manageable.
Bike parks with particularly good family areas
