About the spot
Overview
Around Zermatt, several signposted flow trails lead from the mountain stations above the village back down the valley, with views of the Matterhorn. The Sunnegga Flowtrail (D2, easy, 5.2 km) starts just below Sunnegga station, reached by funicular; the Riffelberg Flowtrail (D3, intermediate, 6.3 km, 730 m of descent) starts at the Riffelberg-Express and runs for a stretch alongside the Gornergrat Railway to Riffelalp. The Blauherd Trail (D4, intermediate, 2.8 km) runs from Blauherd between large boulders and through a gorge down to Sunnegga, and the short Moos Flowtrail (D1, easy) links the hamlet of Furi with Zermatt.
